What is The Deli?
The Deli Magazine is a daily updated website covering local music scenes (thus far: NYC, LA, Nashville, Chicago, SF, Boston, Boston, Philly and Burlington VT). We also have a quarterly printed publication exclusively focused on the NYC independent music scene, meaning the bands and the artists that live in the Big Apple.

Mission Statement
The primary goal of The Deli is to expose local musical artists that have not yet reached a level of international fame: this is why all of our printed articles feature up and coming bands and singer-songwriters (while our websites also cover the most popular breakout bands) .

The secondary goal is to inform and advise the local community of musicians on any other matter related to making music, from recording it to promoting it and performing it. You will find this kind of information in our Delicious Audio Blog and Listings section.

Meghan Chiampa - Associate Editor

Meghan started writing for The Deli Magazine over a year ago in Burlington, Vermont. She moved back to her native Boston in the Summer of 2009 and took the Deli with her. She has freelance written for many different publications, from music reviews and interviews to recreational drinking to poetry journals. Her favorite bands include The Beach Boys, The Talking Heads, Velvet Underground and Marvin Gaye. She is a little sister in the Lizard Lounge family and loves the Cambridge music scene. When she isn’t working on the Deli she is drawing comics, building websites or playing video games and drinking great beer. Also: www.meghanchiampa.com.

Nicole Soriano - Contributor

Nicole lives in a music making/music loving house in Somerville, Mass. Her nights are filled with local/live music experiences, she hopes for that to always be so. She otherwise lives for delicious brunch and for dear friends.

Sheena Dorci - Contributor
Sheena is originally from the Boston area, but will soon betray her roots and move to Brooklyn to attend Parsons the New School for Design in the fall. She enjoys getting into shows for free and pretending to care/review them. She’s also obsessed with Sushi and playing stump trivia. When she is not busy with going to school for Fashion Design and working to fund her education she makes late night trips on the Fung Wah back to Boston to see awesome music (because she really likes shows, the earlier line was a joke).

Jason Rabin- Contributor
Jason Rabin is writer and performer, living in Somerville, MA. You can find more of his arts reviews and other cultural musings at www.bostonianplatyous.blogspot.com.

Matt Keefer- Contributor
Matt is a raging write-a-holic, and digs 60s-70s jazz and pop. He's still stoked that he got to interview Sonny Rollins, though that was a year ago, and avidly listens to the Clash, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Roy Hargrove. If he had spare time, he would probably write a book.

Michael Spencer- Contributor
He's often called "Five-O" and "NARC" at shows due to reverse hippie discrimination against short haircuts on men over 200 lbs. He preferes live and imperfect to recorded and perfect. He has great reverance for all musicians as he cannot play a single note on a single instrument (hence the photography) In his spare time, he has a real job.

Bill Braun- Contributor
Bill is a self-declared psychonaut. He spends his days revering the wildflowers that grow out of weeds. For him, Led Zeppelin's music is still as fresh as it was in 1969. Other favorites include, but are by no means limited to: Paco DeLucia, Bjork, Debussy, and Zappa. He also adores animals.Bill plays in a band called Those Wolves Actually Happened. He strongly recommends you explore the sounds of his friends, Irepress.

Erin Yunes- Contributor
Erin has lived in the Boston area for many years. She co-owns a Custom Creative Services business, Abbott Imaging. Erin has shot for several local publications including The NorthEast Performer Magazine and Crimson Mango Magazine. She is also a singer/mandolinist performing with Poco-a-Poco A Cappella and Boston rock band, The Make. She is earning her Master's Degree at Boston University and has a black cat named Harry.
