Nate Cabral Releases New Music Video "Not the One"

Introducing Nate Cabral, a 17-year-old rapper and guitarist from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, the industry’s newest rising artist. Cabral is owning the craft and showing his talents after releasing several singles this past Fall. Just last week, Cabral released the music video for his latest single, “Not the One,” sampling from Rihanna’s “You Da One,” the perfect pump-up song leading up to this summer. Cabral started playing guitar and piano at just 12-years-old, but only started releasing covers last year, garnering thousands of views on his YouTube page. This led to his self-written and self-produced songs, with influences from Drake, Kid Cudi, Mac Miller, Sammy Adams, Machine Gun Kelly, Luke Byran and the latest duo, Time Flies. Cabral plans on releasing his first mix tape this Spring. The best part… part of the earnings he garners from his music is donated to a local leukemia cancer fund. To check out more of his music, he posts new videos to his Facebook Fan Page every week (Facebook.com/NateCabralMusic) and follow him on Twitter. (@NateCabralMusic).

By: Twin Berlin Website

After winning Guitar Center's "Your Next Record with Travis Barker" competition, Twin Berlin are gearing up for the much-anticipated release of There Goes My Virtue, the new EP produced by Travis Barker. The three-song EP recorded at Red Bull Studio Los Angeles features the single "Can't Take, Take, Take", the song hand-picked by Barker as the winner of Guitar Center's "Your Next Record" competition. "It's a high-energy, loud and powerful record, " says guitarist/vocalist Matt Lopez, who goes on to explain that despite the sudden transformation from recording in a basement in Connecticut to the glamour of Los Angeles, Twin Berlin remain true to their roots. "We went in hoping we wouldn't have to compromise our sound, but Travis [Barker] just helped to make the record we wanted to make. There was no pressure." The recording will be accompanied by artwork created exclusively for Twin Berlin by the late Mikey Welsh. There Goes My Virtue will be released digitally at TwinBerlin.net, as well as all major digital outlets including iTunes and AmazonMP3 on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, followed by a CD release on Thursday, March 1, 2012. Twin Berlin will be offering pre-order packages beginning Thursday, January 18, 2012 at 10am ET on their Bandcamp page.

The Lowbred Watts & Slant of Light at PJ Ryan's

Audio: Anytime You Go Out (MP3, 0.00mb) Download Now

By: The Lowbred Watts Website

Hey, this is Ryan from The Lowbred Watts. I'll be performing in support of Slant of Light over at PJ Ryan's in Somerville, MA on Thursday, Jan 5th. The Lowbred Watts sound has been referred to as a mix of “grimy delta blues and Dylan-esque folk” with a songwriting voice that is “vital, genuine, and promising”. It'll be the debut of alot of new songs from an upcoming release as well as some new homemade instruments (such as an electric washboard). Should be a great night of free music for folksters and indie folks alike. The Lowbred Watts is on at 10pm, with Slant of Light playing two sets from 11-1. 21+, no cover.

By: Jenee Halstead and Dave Dersham Website

I am pleased as punch to invite you to my CD Release party at Club Passim. This will be my first CD since 2003. It's been a long, slow, creative burn, and I am looking forward to sharing the results with everyone on the guest list. The lovely Ms. Halstead is a crackerjack writer with a voice like distilled water. I'm honored by her enthusiasm in joining the evening's festivities. Joining me on stage will be Fiske and Herrera, (producers of my new CD,"Gilding the Lilies,") as well as my Bigfoot Research Organization buddies, Rob Laurens and Lloyd Thayer. Tickets are $12 for non-members, $10 for members. We hope to see you... --Jenee and Dave "Dave Dersham is a storyteller who makes the dark and troubling underbelly of the world and its messes sound nearly lighthearted. A deft twist of phrase reveals as much to the listeners about themselves as about the writer and his subject, and plenty about our current state of affairs." --Brian QTN. 3-time New Folk Finalist. (Kerrville Folk Festival) Jenee Halstead: "Warm and personal, her Emmylou Harris-like voice beckons the listener into the country folk songs with an invitingly crooked finger." --Andy Fife.
