Surf blues rock duo Boom Chick tours across America this Fall from Brooklyn, NY. Boom Chick will tour in support of their debut album Show Pony. They will reach Portland, Oregon on this great journey, playing a very special show at DANTE's on October 20th. Also playing are Portland locals Root Jack. Although boy-girl duos have become prevalent throughout the indie world in recent years, few of them are as raw and inherently reckless as Brooklyn’s Boom Chick, a pair consisting of songwriter Frank Hoier and drummer Moselle Spiller. Songs like “Black Dress Blues” or “When I Don’t Love My Rock n’ Roll” wail away with maniacal distorted guitar and thumping bass drums, and while each song is a new attempt at getting as much sound as possible out of two basic instruments, you can’t forget that they’re also modern takes on those ol’ Delta blues.

Chicago-based singer-songwriters Matt Ryd and Xoe Wise are on tour together and will be playing Portland on Sept. 29. Matt Ryd is best known for his song Healed, which was featured on the much-loved TV series Scrubs. His tour mate, Xoe Wise, is hitting the road behind the critically acclaimed album Echo, and she has shared the stage in the past with John Legend, Colbie Caillat, Lisa Loeb, Greg Laswell and Andrew Belle. Matt and Xoe will be performing a free in-store @ Music Millennium at 6PM on Thursday, Sept. 29.

We are a new Indie Project in the Area



We are a new project in the area. We are still in the studio but we put together a video for our first song because we wanted to get some feedback.Our plan is to finish up an album and If we get some good feedback and people are digging the sound we may do more shows. Let us know what you think! Portland has been great to us so far, and we just hope to pay back the favor with some great music.

Glimpse Trio to play in Portland and Eugene!



The Bay Area’s very own psychedelic rock band Glimpse Trio has announced a series of upcoming tour dates in support of their debut album, “1985”. They have confirmed a full regional tour with stops in Portland on Septmeber 1st at the Twilight Cafe and Bar and September 2nd – Diablo’s Downtown Lounge – Eugene, OR The band's upcoming schedule also includes an extensive west coast run with stops at a number of local music venues as well as an opening spot for Nuclear Rabbit on October 8th at 924 Gilman in Berkeley, CA. The Precarious and Misanthropic nature of Cory

Cory Burnsed has been making music for around fifteen years. His music is influenced by everyone from The Beatles, Mumford and Sons to Elliott Smith and Tom Petty. He has been part of numerous different bands, duo’s, groups, and acts as lead, back up and recording studio help over the years in the Portland metro area. The only thing that has stuck so far is his solo work; his personal love of song writing, song making and recording, and most of all just making people smile with the power of music. He has played hole in the wall joints, open mics, friends parties all around Portland, and occasionally saturday market for over seven years. All of his music is independently recorded and produced. He has released six LP’s and three EP’s dating all the way back to high school. His most recent release, his new 2011 EP Minute Long Songs; which are not minute long songs at all, but thats how they all started. Snippets, tidbits, little thoughts, between the hours that make up his day to day life. Cory doesn't get out a lot. He is currently a student at PSU and is studying to become an English Professor.
